To Add Form Headers to Forms
You must have purchased this add-on.
You must be an administrator of the site.
Form Header
Use single line of text columns (fields).
The column name is not displayed on the page and instead is used to identify that it is a “header” when viewing list columns on the list settings page.
Under Additional Column Settings, the “Description” field is the critical piece that turns the “default value text” into a header; it must contain exact text as explained below.
The Default Value – must be “text” and this is the text that will display as the Form Header text within your form.
A web search for ‘Hex colour’ will supply you with sources of colour codes.
How to Add a Form Header
- Go to the list that needs the Form header (Site Actions > View All Site Content > your list) then to the list settings.
- Click "Add new column".
- Column Name: not used/displayed in form – name could contain "Header – (your choice)" (or some text to identify within the columns listed in the list settings page).
- Type of Column: Single line of text
- Description: this field must contain the text “Header Section” (the system is looking for this exact phrase), a dash (hyphen) and your chosen colour (in hexadecimal code)
Example: Header Form - #94FFGG. Using the text 'Header Section -' (i.e. no specified colour) will mean the default colour will be used. - Default Value: Text
- Default Text: Your choice of Header Name (for display in the form).
