Images in general should be no more than 200 pixels on their longest side and have the file format .jpg or .jpeg.

Go to Site Actions > All Site Content, Picture Library section.
Choose:
- Home Page Pics. Images stored in this picture library will automatically display as a slide show on the Home page, in the Images and Links Bar.
- Other picture libraries. Create new picture libraries or use built-in ones to store all your agency and employee photos.
Click Upload > Upload Picture.
Click Browse to locate and upload an image stored on your computer.
Click OK to save.

Upload Multiple Images

Uploading multiple images is only supported in Internet Explorer

Follow the first 2 steps above
Click Upload > Upload Multiple Pictures from the toolbar.
Drag and drop the images or click browse for files instead > if browsing for multiple images hold down the control 'ctrl' button and click on your selection to upload
Click OK to save.
