Create/Edit/Delete Site Content Types

Create a Site Content Type

  1. Get here: Site Actions > Site Settings > Galleries > Site content types
  2. Click Create in the toolbar to load the New Site Content Type page.
  3. Name your new content type. The description is optional.
  4. Select the group from which to choose the parent content type.
  5. Select the parent content type.
  6. Add the new content type to an existing site content type group, or create a new group to store it in.
  7. Click OK to save and finish.

View/Edit/Delete Site Content Types

  1. Get here: Site Actions > Site Settings > Galleries > Site content types
  2. Click on a content type to open its settings page.         
    • Edit settings: Click on a link in the Settings section. Make your changes and click OK to save.
    • Edit/delete a site content type column: Click on a column to open the Change Site Content Type page.             
      • Edit a content type column: Change the column name; specify if the column must contain information; specify whether all child site and list content types using this type should be updated with the settings on this page.
      • Delete a content type column: Click Remove; then click OK on the confirmation pop-up window.
    • Delete a site content type: Click on Delete this site content type, under Settings.
