Overview


ArtfulBits Image Upload is a type of column you can add to a list. This type of column allows you to upload an image to a list item.

The ArtfulBits Image Upload is used on the Profile to display Individuals' photos:

 


It can also be used to add pictures of assets for residences: 




Requirements/Dependencies


To add an ArtfulBits Image Upload Column to a list on your ShareVision site, you will need to

  • Login with ShareVision Administrator permissions
  • Identify the list that you would like to be able add an image to list items



How to Access the ShareVision List


  1. Login to ShareVision with a user account that has Site Administrator permissions. 
  2. Select the gear in the upper right hand corner and then select Site Administration:
  3. When prompted, enter your ShareVision Administrator username and password and select Sign In.
  4. Select View Lists and Libraries

  5. Enter the name of the list you will be importing data to and select Search. In this example, we will use the Daily Journal.

    6. Any list matching the search criteria you entered will appear below the search window. Select List Settings for the list you would like to add the column to.


Adding an ArtfulBits Image Upload Column


  1. Go to the column section in the List Settings.
  2. At the bottom of the section, select Create Column.

  3. Enter a name for the new column.
  4. Select: ArtfulBits Image Upload

  5. Next, complete the additional options for the new column:

    1. Description: Enter a description for the column (optional).
    2. Require that this column contains information: Select 'yes' to make uploading an image required. Users will not be able to save the item if no image has been uploaded.
    3. Add to all content types: Check the box to add this column to all existing content types
    4. Add to default view: Check the box to add this column to the default list view. Note: List views are only visible to users with ShareVision Administrator access.
    5. Use file extensions filter: Check the boxes to select which types of files (images) can be uploaded. 
    6. Type a comma delimited additional list of file extensions: You can add additional file extensions for other types of files in the space provided. If adding more than one, add a comma between each type entered. 
    7. Image size in List Views: The default image size can be selected.
      1. However, if you would like to set a specific size for when images are uploaded, you can select Specify image size and then set the size for both the width and the height in pixels.
      2. Alternatively, you can Limit image size to a maximum width and height in pixels by specifying the maximum width and height in the space provided.
    8. Image size in list item Edit/Display forms: You can also specify the image size when users view the image on the display or edit forms.
      1. You can set the image size on the forms to Use default image size
      2. However, if you would like to set a specific size for when images are uploaded, you can select Specify image size and then set the size for both the width and the height in pixels.
      3. Alternatively, you can Limit image size to a maximum width and height in pixels by specifying the maximum width and height in the space provided.
      4. If you would like to use the same settings that were defined in the Image size in List Views, select: Use image size the same as in List Views
    9. Resize large images after upload (on server side):
      1. If you select Yes, the options to set the maximum width and height that images should be resized to when they are uploaded will appear. 
      2. If you select No, then images will be uploaded to the server without any resizing. Note: This can result in large images being uploaded which can affect database sizes over time. 
    10. Show as link: Check this box to display the image as a link.
  6. Select OK to add the new column.
