Manage QuickStart


Overview


This knowledge base article provides you with how to manage the Quick Start menu on all of your Portals.


Requirements/Dependencies


Before managing the Quick Start Menu on your site, you will need to

  • Login with ShareVision Administrator permissions 
  • Have set up some lists and libraries in Site Administration
  • Have set up your Portals and Pages
  • Have developed a plan for the information will need to be made available to your ShareVision users (i.e. Consider what pages you will need for the portals on your site, what type of information will be included on each page and who should have access to each page) 



Launching Manage QuickStart


Once you have set up your Portals and Pages, you will be ready to Manage your Quick Start Menu.

  1. Login to ShareVision with a user account that has Site Administrator permissions. 
  2. Select the gear in the upper right hand corner and then select Site Administration:


  3. When prompted, enter your ShareVision Administrator username and password and select Sign In.


  4. In Site Administration, select Configure Portal Settings in the Portals and Pages section:



  5. Select a Portal
  6. Then, select the Manage Quick Start button.

  7. The Manage QuickStart Order window will open.


Headings


In the Manage QuickStart Order window, you can Add a New Heading, Rename a HeadingChange the Heading Order and Delete a Heading.

Add a New Heading

You can add a new heading in the Quick Start menu. 

  1. Select New Heading.


  2. Enter a name for the heading in New Heading.


  3. Select Save.

  4. Scroll down to the bottom of the list of heading and pages. 


  5. The New Heading will be at the bottom of list of headings and pages.



Rename a Heading

You can rename a heading in the Quick Start menu. 

  1. Select the Heading that you would like to rename.



  2. In the Heading field, make the change to the heading name.

  3. Select Save.


Change the Heading Order 

You can change the order of Headings in the Quick Start menu.

  1. Locate the Heading that you would like to move.

  2. When you mouse over the icon next to the Heading name,


    your cursor will change to:


  3. Click on the Heading and drag it to where you would like it to be placed in the Quick Start menu. 


  4. The Heading and any Pages under it will move to where you placed it



Delete a Heading

You can delete Headings in the Quick Start menu. 

  1. Select the Heading you would like to delete.

  2. Select Delete.

  3. The Heading will be deleted. 

    Note: If there are any pages under the Heading when you delete it, the page(s) will be moved under the last Heading in the Quick Start Menu list. You can move the Page(s) under another Heading. 



Pages


In the Manage QuickStart Order window, you can Change the Page Order under the same Heading, Move a Page Under Another HeadingEdit Page Permissions and for Listing Portals only, you can configure the Advanced Options to display or hide Pages

Change the Page Order (same Heading)

  1. Locate the Page that you would like to move.

  2. When you mouse over the icon next to the Page name,


    your cursor will change to:


  3. Click on the Page and drag it to where you would like it to be placed in the Quick Start menu. 


  4. The Pages will move to where you placed it

Move a Page Under Another Heading

  1. Locate the Page that you would like to move.

  2. When you mouse over the icon next to the Page name,


    your cursor will change to:


  3. Click on the Page and drag it under the Heading where you would like it to be placed in the Quick Start menu. 


  4. The Pages will move under the Heading.

Edit Page Permissions

  1. To edit Page Permissions, select the Page that you want to change permissions on.
  2. The Permissions assigned to this Page will be displayed on the right. All Groups that have access to this Portal currently have access to the selected Page. 

  3. To remove Permissions to this page for one or more Groups, select the Group(s) and then select the single arrow above the list of groups. The Groups will be moved from Have Access to Do Not Have Access. Any users who are in those Groups will not be able to view the Page in the Quick Start menu after you save this change.  

    Note: To select more than one Group, hold down the CTRL key on your keyboard and select each Group. 


  4. Scroll down and select Save.


  5. An asterisk  will be added to the right of the Page name in the list of Headings and Pages.
    Theis used to identify any Page that has custom Permissions.

    Also, for Pages on Listing Portals, thewill appear if Advanced Options have been applied to the Page. See below for more details about Advanced Options (applies to Listing Portals only).

Advanced Options (applies to Listing Portals only)

When managing the Quick Start Menu on Listing Portals (Individuals, Programs and Residences), you will see an additional section below the Page Permissions: Advanced Options.
