Reordering Headings, Pages and Page Parts

Overview

Your ShareVision Site Administrator can reorder the headings, pages and page parts on your site.

Reordering Headings and Pages

When headings and pages are reordered, the order in which they are displayed in the Quick Start menu will change.

 

Reordering Page Parts

When page parts are reordered, the order of the information on the page will change.

 

 

Requirements/Dependencies

Before reordering headings, pages and page parts on your ShareVision site, the following is required:

  • Login with Site Administrator permissions 

  • Have set up your portals, pages, page parts and headings

  • Have developed a plan for the information will need to be made available to your ShareVision users (i.e. Consider what pages you will need for the portals on your site, what type of information will be included on each page and who should have access to each page) 

 

 

 Instructions

  1. Login to ShareVision with a user account that has Site Administrator permissions. 

  2. Select (click on) your name in the upper right hand corner

  3. Select Site Administration on the menu that appears

  4. The Site Administration Home page will be displayed. Select Portal Settings in the Site Settings section:

     

  5. Select the portal that you would like to reorder.

     

How to Reorder Headings

  1. Begin by reviewing the current order of the Quick Start menu on the portal. In portal settings, you can do this by reviewing the order of the headings

     

     

  2. It is recommended that you also review the Quick Start for the portal menu on your site.

     

  3. To reorder the headings, go to the portal settings for the portal that you would like to reorder and for the heading you would like to move, select the reorder icon:

     

  4. Once the reorder icon is selected, drag the heading to move it where you would like it to be in the quick start menu.



  5. After you have completed moving the headings, go back to the portal on your site and refresh the page to see that the headings have been reordered. You can refresh by pressing CTRL + F5.

     

How to Reorder Pages

  1. Begin by reviewing the current order of the Quick Start menu on the portal. In portal settings, you can do this by reviewing the order of the pages:

     

  2. It is recommended that you also review the Quick Start for the portal menu on your site.

     

  3. To reorder the pages, go to the portal settings for the portal that you would like to reorder and for the page you would like to move, select the reorder icon:

     

  4. Once the reorder icon is selected, drag the page to move it where you would like it to be in the quick start menu.

     

  5. The pages will be reordered and the links in the quick start menu will be displayed in the new order.

How to Reorder Page Parts

  1. Begin by reviewing a page on your site. This will allow you to view the page the way the users see it. In this example, the Client Details page layout, or how the page parts are displayed, is not enhancing the user experience.

  2. From your site, if you are logged in with an account that has Site Administrator access, you can select the gear on any of the page parts on the page and the the page part will open in portal settings.

  3. The page part that you selected the gear on will be highlighted.

  4. To reorder the page parts on the page, for the page part you would like to move, select the reorder icon:

     

  5. Once the reorder icon is selected, drag the page part to move it where you would like it to be on the page.

  6. Select the tab to go back to your site.

  7. Press CTRL F5 on your keyboard.

  8. The page will refresh and the new layout will be displayed.

     

     

 

Reordering System Headings

System headings are identified by the padlock icon:

These headings are hard coded to be the last heading in the portal and as such, they cannot be reordered.

 

 

You can always add a new heading and move the page(s) under the system heading to the newly created heading. Then, you can reorder the newly created heading in portal settings. The Quick Start Menu Headings knowledge base article provides more details about working with headings.
