Requirements/Dependencies

Before using Track Lists to PageParts on your ShareVision site, you will need to

  • Login with ShareVision Administrator permissions
  • Have set up some lists, pages, and pageparts

About

PageParts are used on your ShareVision site to display lists and collection information. Each PagePart has a specific Data Source (list) connected to it - the data source dictates where the data is coming from for the PagePart and also which list new entries are being saved to.

As additional Pages and PageParts are created on your site, it can be difficult to remember where certain lists are being displayed. Track List to PagePart allows ShareVision Administrators to see exactly where a list is displaying for their users.

How-to

  1. Login to ShareVision with a user account that has Site Administrator permissions.
  2. Select the gear in the upper right hand corner and then select Site Administration:

  3. When prompted, enter your ShareVision Administrator username and password and select Sign In.

  4. In Site Administration, select Track Lists to PageParts in the Advanced Options section:
  5. Select a list you would like to track from the dropdown menu
  6. Once a list has been selected, a link to the selected list's settings will appear directly under the drop down menu. When clicked, a new tab will open the List Settings - this is where list can be edited
  7. A table shows each area on your site the list is displayed in. The Portal, Page, and PagePart name will be listed for each instance.
  8. For easy identification, the results are also sorted by content type so its clear which type is displaying in which area of the site.
  9. All pages are hyperlinked. Clicking on a hyperlink will cause the page to load that is displaying the pagepart with the tracked list.
  10. Each result has a small cog under the Edit heading, clicking on a cog will open a new tab in the Portal Settings in Site Administration, directly on the PagePart settings associated with the selected cog
