Overview

This Page Timeout Add-On mitigates a security risk of a user's account being inappropriately used. The Page Timeout Add-On is code that is installed on your site to logout the current browser session user after a period of inactivity (no mouse movement or keyboard activity).

A user will need to login to the site again to return to the page they were on.

The Page Timeout Add-On is supported on the following browsers: Internet Explorer, Chrome, FireFox, Safari.

To use the Page Timeout Add-On

  • You must have purchased this add-on.

Installation Notes

The Page Timeout Add-On is installed without a user interface.

How to Configure the Page Timeout Add-On

The Page Timeout Add-On is not configured by you.

When purchasing you will need to nominate;

  • the period of inactivity in minutes
  • the period of warning in minutes

Period of Inactivity: The period of time you wish the system to wait before warning the user they could be logged out.

Period of Warning: The period of time you wish to grant the user to avoid being logged out.

These time periods will be coded when the Add-On is installed.

Staff User Guide

SYSTEM WARNING

After the nominated period of inactivity, a pop-up message will give the user an opportunity to stop the system from logging them out in the following  by clicking 'OK'.

'You will be automatically logged out of ShareVision in {period of warning} minutes.
To continue using ShareVision, click OK below.
If you want to save data in an open form you are working on, ensure you click OK on the open form.'

If the system does not receive any activity (by the user clicking 'OK') within the period of warning the system will logout that user.

 Additional Functionality

A minimum Service charge of 0.5hr is billable where you wish to change the period of inactivity and/or the period of warning before the system logs out the current browser session user.
