Creating A Filter Page

 All new Filtered Lists, alternately known as Filter Pages, are created from an existing list page using the Filter Page Wizard.

 If you are creating a new Filter Page based on an existing List, skip to the next instruction; otherwise you will need to Create a new list first.

  1. From the List Settings page, click on Filter records for this list by individual/program/residence, under the section Permissions and Management. This will start the Filter Page Wizard.
  2. ShareVision will prompt you to make sure that several critical steps have been taken:
    • Management of content types has been enabled for this list;
    • The default content type has been renamed; and
    • The Individual and/or Programs and Residences site columns have been added to your list.  If they haven't, you can click on the corresponding button below to add the column(s) you require.

    • Once all three requirements show a green checkmark, click on Ready to create my filter page.
  3. Fill in the various fields as necessary.  Note that all required fields are marked with an "*".
  4. Click OK and you will be taken to the Filtered Lists page.  The new Filter Page will appear at the bottom of the list.

Any column in any list called "Title" with a default value of "View" will automatically be hidden in all forms. To make the "Title" field visible in a form either change the default value or change the column name.

Creating a calendar view using filtered pages

When creating a Filter Page you can choose between List and Calendar View. A calendar view can be really useful when dealing with data in a visual way.

Before you add a calendar filter page, you must create a Calendar View for the selected List.

  1. On Apply filtering to: select Calendar
  2. Set the Default View for: MonthWeek or Day, according to your preference
  3. Select the Calendar View
