About - Alerts

Alerts are system-generated based on specified settings and automatically emailed to specified users. An alert can be sent to one or more people and can be set up for any user; however, only administrators and users with access to the list and library toolbars can create alerts. Alerts for document libraries are set up the same way as they are for lists, by clicking on Alert me in the Actions menu on the document library toolbar.

Troubleshooting

If a user isn't receiving alerts, ensure the user is checking the email account associated with their ShareVision user account. See the list of users in People and Groups in Site Settings to check.
