Overview

The Medication Administration Record (MAR) add-on generates a PDF that can be printed and initialed by staff. This is generated from the medications entered that the Individual is using and based on prescribed and discontinued date fields. It has been designed as a pdf output to be printed for ease of use - this record can be scanned and uploaded to an Individual's My Documents library as an electronic record where necessary.

The MAR pdf is has been designed to be used over a month. PRN medications can also be entered for each Individual and displayed in a section on the pdf to be printed.

Requirements for the Medication Administration Record (MAR) Add-On

  • You must have purchased this add-on.

  • Your ShareVision site must have a list 'Individuals Using Medications' (or similarly named) that tracks medications with data (columns) as follows;
    • Individual
    • Date prescribed
    • Date discontinued
    • Dosage
    • Administration Time column which must have at least a value of 'PRN'
  • Your site must have the Filter Page Wizard Add-On installed.
  • You must have a user account to login.
  • You must have security permissions granted to access the Individual Details Page of the Individual you wish to generate a MAR for.

How to 


Generate a Monthly MAR pdf

  1. Login and navigate to the Individual Details Page of the Individual you wish to generate a MAR pdf for.
  2. On the QuickStart/QuickLaunch, select 'Medications' (this may also be 'My Medications' or 'Individuals Medications')
  3. At the top of the page will be a <Year> and <Month> selector (by default these will be the current month).
    1. Note: The <Year> selector has a range from 2013 to 'current year +1'.
  4. Click the 'Generate MAR' button to produce pdf output for the specified month.

If a medication has a 'discontinued date' that is before the Month of the MAR being generated, then that medication will not appear on the MAR pdf.


Ensure a PRN Medication is included in the MAR pdf

  1. When creating an item on the Individual's 'Medications' page, add 'PRN' in the column <Administration Times>. The medication will now appear in a PRN section at the end of the MAR pdf dependent on the <Prescribed on> date and the <Discontinued date>.

When the MAR Add-on is installed the logo on your site will be displayed on the pdf.

If the 'Individuals Using Medications' by-Individual filter page (existing at the time of the MAR Add-On install) is deleted from the site, the MAR Add-On will not function. Where a new 'Individuals Using Medications' filter page is created to be used after install of the MAR Add-On please contact Support or a Product Expert to update the MAR Add-On to use the new page.
