Form Help Configuration



Overview


The ShareVision Form Help Configuration enables Site Administrators to create explanatory help text, images and hyperlinks (Help Content) to assist users in completing Forms and Surveys.


Requirements


Before working with Form Help Configuration on your ShareVision site, you will need to

  • Login with ShareVision Administrator permissions 
  • Have set up some Lists (forms) or Surveys in Site Administration
  • Have developed a plan for the information that will need to be made available to your ShareVision users (i.e. Consider what pages you will need for the portals on your site, what type of information will be included on each page and who should have access to each page)

How to Access


  1. Login to ShareVision with a user account that has Site Administrator permissions. 
  2. Select the gear in the upper right hand corner and then select Site Administration:


  3. When prompted, enter your ShareVision Administrator username and password and select Sign In.


  4. In Site Administration, select Form Help Configuration in the Features and Utilities section:

Creating Form Help Content


The Form Help Configuration page displays all the Help Content that has been created on your site. There are three different places form help can be added in a Form or Survey: at the top of a form, a pop-up for a specific column, or displayed above/below a specific column a

A Field can have multiple Help Content items and will display as multiple question mark icons.

 Top of a Form


  1. Click New Item                                                                                                                                                                                    
  2. Select the List you wish to add Form Help Content to    
  3. Select Content Type Name if there is a specific content type you'd like the Form Help Content on - if not, leave on (All)
  4. Do not select a Field name
  5. Add the text, images and hyperlinks you'd like to appear for Help Content in Help Text
  6. Click Save
  7. Your form will now show Form Help Content at the top of the form. 

Pop-up for a Specific column

  1. Click New Item
  2. Select the List you wish to add Form Help Content to
  3. Select Content Type Name if there is a specific content type you'd like the Form Help Content on - if not, leave on (All)
  4. Select a Field Name to place the Help Content for a particular field/column.
  5. Select Display: Pop up                                                     
  6. Add the text, images and hyperlinks you'd like to appear for Help Content in Help Text
  7. Click Save
  8. Your form will now show the Form Help Content pop up at the selected column 

Displayed Above/Below a Specific Column

  1. Click New Item
  2. Select the List you wish to add Form Help Content to
  3. Select Content Type Name if there is a specific content type you'd like the Form Help Content on - if not, leave on (All)
  4. Select a Field Name to place the Help Content for a particular field/column.
  5. Select Display: Above Field or Below Field.                    
  6. Add the text, images and hyperlinks you'd like to appear for Help Content in Help Text
  7. Choose if you would like the help text to be displayed on the Print Version of the Form/Survey using the 'Display on Print version?' checkbox. Only the Above Field or Below Field configurations have this option, Top of a Form and Pop Up form help configurations will NOT appear in the Print Version.
  8. Click Save
  9. Your form will now show the Form Help Content pop up at the selected column. 


Creating Form Help Content in a readable text size and similar font style to that of the rest of your ShareVision site will result in a cleaner overall look.
