- Lisa Barnett
Applies To Version(s): v4.0
Overview
The Quick Start Menu which is typically displayed, or visible, on the left side of your site, allows you to navigate to other portals or pages.
Sometimes, hiding the Quick Start Menu will improve how things are displayed on your site. For instance, if you have a list page part with many columns, hiding the Quick Start Menu, will provide you with additional space for the columns and information to be displayed.
Pinning the Quick Start Menu
By default, the Quick Start Menu is pinned. This means that it is visible and won't be hidden while you navigate your site. The way to know if it is pinned is by the direction that the push pin icon is diplayed at the top of the Quick Start Menu.
When it is displayed vertically,
the Quick Start Menu will always be visible.
Unpinning the Quick Start Menu
When the Quick Start Menu is unpinned, the push pin icon is horizontal:
If you keep the cursor on the Quick Start Menu, it will be displayed the same way as when it is pinned.
When you move the cursor off of the Quick Start Menu, the menu is hidden and a QuickStart tab appears:
To make the QuickStart Menu visible, click the QuickStart tab and it will be displayed:
