How-To

Save List as Template

  1. Open any list or library from the All Site Content page.
  2. Open the List Toolbar Settings Menu.
  3. Go to List Settings>Permissions and Management>Save list as template.

Include Content in a List Template

To create another list with the same fields as this list, you will not need to include content. Only the columns will be carried over to a new, empty list. If you are archiving your list, or want to make a downloadable backup, check the Include Content checkbox, so that the list can be restored with the same column structure and all its records.

The List Template Gallery does not indicate whether or not a template includes content. We therefore suggest adding an indicator to the template name, like "c", to differentiate between those that do from those that don't. For example, templates created of the Incidents list might be named Incidents 083107 (without content) and Incidents 083107-c (with content).

Note that most lists that were included with your ShareVision site, such as Profiles and Fact Sheetcannot be deleted, as to do so would impair the function of your site.
