Slide Show PagePart: Set Up and Configuration


Overview


This knowledge base article provides you with everything you need to know about a Slideshow PagePart on your ShareVision site.The Slideshow PagePart is a feature which can be used to display organization specific events or information all in one convenient location.  


Requirements/Dependencies


Before setting up portals on your ShareVision site, you will need to

  • Login with ShareVision Administrator permissions.
  • Have set up an image library you'd like to use for a Slide Show. If you need to add an image library, please refer to Adding an Image Library.
  • Images uploaded to an image library for the Slide Show. Please refer to Uploading Images to an Image Library for more information.

Recommendation


Recommended image sizes for Slide Shows:

  • Minimum (width x height): 385 pixels x 235 pixels
  • Maximum (width x height): 435 pixels x 315 pixels 

Images outside of this range can be uploaded, however images which are smaller or larger than the recommended sizes listed above may not be easy for the ShareVision users to view in the Slide Show. More details about Resizing Images are provided below.


Important Information


While the Slide Show PagePart will allow you to add slide shows to any Page on any Portal on your site, it is important to remember that when images and documents are uploaded to your ShareVision site, the size of your ShareVision database will increase. Each ShareVision subscription includes a maximum database size before overage fees are applied to your annual renewal invoice.

PagePart Type


Select Slide Show as the Type of PagePart. The Slide Show PageParts will have this  symbol beside them in Portal Settings for easy recognition.



PagePart Width


The images can be displayed as all pagepart width options:

  • 1/3
  • 2/3
  • Full Width


Slide Show Settings

Display option allows the choice between slide or grid layout.

  • Slide: displays the photos one at a time, rotating between the photos in the selected library at the set time frame


  • Grid: all the photos in the library will be displayed at the same time in a grid layout on the selected page



Time Frame

  • When the Slide option is selected a Time Frame drop down appears in the PagePart settings, here you can set how quickly you'd like your photos to change with options between 1-10 seconds.


Data Source


Data Source is the section you will decide where you want to pull the data (pictures) for your Slide Show, you will have the option of picking from any image library that exists on your ShareVision site. 

If you want to have several Slide Shows on different pages we recommend creating unique image libraries for each slide show like Seaside Residence Slide Show Images and Home Slide Show Images to make things easier to identify when setting up your PagePart.


After completing the configuration and saving, your slide show will now run automatically on the Page that the PagePart was added to as seen below.

Images can be pictures or graphics and using high quality Images will result in a clearer display for the users viewing the Slide Show

Listing Portal Form Filters


If this PagePart is being added to a Page on an Listing Portal like Individuals, Programs or Residences, the Listing Portal Form Filters section will appear in the PagePart settings. To learn more about this section, select one of the links below:

For Standard Portals (non-Listing), this section will not be displayed.

PagePart Visibility (Listing Portals Only)


If this PagePart is being added to a Page on an Entity Portal like Individuals, Programs or Residences, the PagePart Visibility section will appear in the PagePart settings. To learn more about this section, select one of the links below:
