About - Site Content Types


The Site Content Gallery stores all content types existing on your site.


Site Content Type: Content types are grouped by the resource they are used in. For example, the content types used in document libraries are grouped together under Document Content Types.


Parent: The Parent column indicates the template used to create the content type.


Source: The source is the site in which the content type is located and used. In the image above, all content types shown are used in the main site, ShareVision 3. The source would be different if a content type was used somewhere else, like in a different version of ShareVision.


Create: Create a new site content type.


Show Group: View all content types or only those of a select group. 


If the concept of content types is confusing to you, remember that content types are essentially form templates
